Juror's comment: I had to view this video multiple times because it is rich with cultural nuance and meaning. It represents so much work, storyboarding, thoughtfulness, editing and aesthetic decisions that it deserves attention and the Best of Show award.  —Ellen Greenblum

‟I am honored to award the Fifth Annual Cowen Prize to an emerging artist at Yavapai College.

As artists, we know how art influences our lives everyday, but during the pandemic art became a lifeline for many, whether artists or not. More time for reflection and less time commuting has lead to a new appreciation for art in our lives and an explosion of creativity around the world, including here in Prescott.

Hopefully, next Fall we can get back to live receptions and observations of these remarkable works of art. It is a delightful dilemma to have to choose to award the Prize to one artist from among so many brilliant works.”  —Cathy Cowen

This year's recipient of the Cowen Prize of $500 is Marti Dobkins.
